Yolo supervisor named Agriculturalist of the Year

Yolo County Fifth District Supervisor Duane Chamberlain will be honored as the Agriculturalist of the Year during the 2012 Annual Meeting of the Yolo County Farm Bureau.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 19, at the Woodland Community & Senior Center, 2001 East St. The cost to attend is $55 per person. Non-members are welcome.
To make reservations, contact the Farm Bureau at 662-6316 by Jan. 13.
Chamberlain, who has held the position of 5th District supervisor for the county since January 2005, recently announced that he will seek re-election next year.
“I have worked hard for the residents of the Fifth District since I was first elected, but I have much more to do. I would like to continue the work I have been doing, not only for my district, but for the entire County.”
Chamberlain has supported local agriculture for decades. He is a former president of the Farm Bureau currently serves on the Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Committee of the California State Association of Counties, was the alfalfa adviser for the California Farm Bureau Federation; and currently serves on the Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Committee of the California State Association of Counties.
The Fifth District is the largest district in acreage and represents Woodland, Madison, Esparto, Capay, Brooks, Guinda, Rumsey, Yolo, Zamora, Dunnigan and Knights Landing
